Help Identifying a clarinet
« on: March 21, 2019, 07:48:31 PM »
Hi - Iím new to the clarinet world and have a partial wood clarinet whose only identifying feature appears to be the serial number A2920.  Mainly Iím trying to get a sense of whether it is worth finding a mouthpiece and barrel to go with this and get it serviced, or if I should start from scratch.

Thanks!

David

This looks to be all-wood in construction.

It is post-1923 or so, but it has an old-fashioned case, so probably not the original case.

I can't tell the manufacturer, but as a general rule, old wooden clarinets value maxes out at $100 unrestored, and about $200 restored.

Thanks so much for the info!  Iím curious - is there a specific attribute that identifies it as post-1923, or is it a number of factors?

Thanks!
