Larry, I don’t see why not. Any kind of oil meant for delicate mechanicals should be more than good for clarinets

Thanks! I had a stuck Eb key on my boehm flute and having no proper oil I used olive oil, worked a treat. But my partner has some clippers and they came with a bottle of oil

Neither of those are suitable really.  That light machine oil is too thin, but better than nothing. and the olive oil will go gummy and horrible in time.   Be sure to dismantle the key and get that cleaned off before you do anything else.  Then read the article that I linked to above.

I expect the light machine oil will combine with the olive oil so maybe it won't go gummy – or least it should buy you some time if you aren't inclined to take things apart. Just don't put motor oil in your salad.
