After a 4 year hiatus I got my bike out, and am slowly building up my fitness levels again. Am so out of shape!

That sure is a nice view you have there, Larry.  Nice bike, too!

Just wanted to post a great version of Body and Soul performed by the Portena Jazz band in 1972.

Enjoy!

How many of you on here play trumpet or cornet? I have never even picked up a brass instrument but I'm intrigued by them and I wonder how easy or hard  they are to play. I'm particularly drawn to the cornet. Trouble is my partner is like, no way josé. Its the volume that's the main issue, but they can be muted right (can't really mute a clarinet)
And if I was to start looking for a cornet what should I look for, and what should I avoid?

I've found brass instruments straight up impossible to play at all. I guess my lips just don't jive that way.

I have a cornet or 2 and a few trumpets as well. They're fun to toot on. Trombone is king though!

Dave, you may want to consider a new approach to Embouchure. I call it the "no Embouchure embouchure".  What??????

It's true. I find myself focusing an breath control and air stream speed and warm vs. cold air waaaay more than Embouchure. Just make an adequate seal from mouth to instrument and it should just about play on it's own!

Now, who here has tried bass recorder???  :D

The biggest I've played is tenor. It's got an incredible, sweet and darkly gorgeous sound. Highly recommend!

Yea I had a tenor once but it was a bit of a handful. I hope to get myself a low whistle soon...

Awesome!  I've been enjoying my cheap Waltons (high) D whistle.
