Musty, old clarinet cases are apparently really interesting to turtles.  Nessie came dashing over and helped me unwrap it.

Just for you, Dave, you young'in.  And yes, at one point I had the sides is my hair clipped down like that with a frizzy perm and hair hanging over one eye.

I remember the 80s...but I also remember the 70s.  I think I liked the 70s better...
They say that if you remember the 60's, you weren't there.
From what I've read/heard, that's probably correct.

Expand your vocabulary, courtesy of Adam Neely:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI7nhSIuHg4

He talks about the US national anthem and why it's so hard to sing.

As with others who try to have successful (=people watching) YouTube channels, he will take a position that people will want to argue with.  I don't necessarily agree with his delivery of his opinions, but he does manage to make them engaging, at least for a while.  There are youtubers out there with really boring (to me) channels that have very click-baitish (to me) titles on their videos that ensnared me for a while.

Bonus: A snippet of Stravinsky's arrangement of the SSB.

Me?  I'll put this out there: Our Anthem should be "This Land is Your Land", but until then, I will play The Star-Spangled Banner as it is written in front of me.

Of course, there's always "To Anacreon in Heaven" until then.

I remember the 60's quite well, and what surprises me is how the 60's have changed over the years.

Only you guys would understand the nightmare I had last night.

I went to some old house with a bunch of unsavory men. Inside the house were several glass showcases full of wonderful, rare musical instruments. I don't know what they all were. I think my imagination invented a few. All of the instruments had price stickers with prices around $200-$300 dollars. Many were double-walled metal. Some were alto or bass sized. I wasn't allowed to touch. just look.

The men said that they were going to burn the house down that afternoon and that any instruments left would be burned, too. I had no time to evaluate. I also didn't have that much money and hadn't OKed the purchase with my husband.

To give me a bit of time, they invited me into the back yard for corned beef sandwiches. The sandwich was so full of meat that it was falling out. I didn't want to go back in and make a mess, but they said it was no problem because the house was full of corned beef. When I went back in, there was about a 6" layer of corned beef everywhere, including on the cases.

Then I woke up.
