Can anyone give me some info?
« on: April 05, 2019, 06:48:44 PM »
I bought this clarinet at a garage sale for $10. It is a 103 Selmer model with a serial number of 645. I know nothing about it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You have yourself a typical Selmer USA instrument. That's a good thing. I have a 103. It was my first wooden clarinet. Intonation is probably above average and the tone is very dark. Not a jazz horn but a great instrument for "legit" stuff. These usually go unnoticed and sell for way below actual "value".

If your copy is free from cracks or damage, you got an extremely good deal!

(645 is actually 64.5 - the barrel length)

Thx for the info. I need to get it cleaned and corked but I'm glad to hear I have a good instrument for my daughter.

Restored you’re looking at $250-300 or so. Excellent return on investment
