Hi guys, I have found a great source for woodwind repair items.  Pads for flute, clarinet, saxophone, basson, oboe, etc, and other good things!

Zheng Hao Music (Zheng Hao means Just Right in chinese)

These guys are a Singapore-based company (MUCH more reputable than pure chinese).
They sell great pads at insane prices.
I have used their synthetic for a while now, and they\'re great for the price.  Their leather pads are also very good.
Clarinet pads are as low as 24 cents a piece (bladder) up to 78 cents for \"ZHHT membrane\".  Leather pads are 31 cents each.

The second best place for pads is

musicmedic.com

Their pads are almost double the price of the Zheng Hao pads though (i dont think theres really that much difference).

Dave - Zheng Hao does have good stuff. I use their synth. and various other pads. I stocked up well bc they are so inexpensive. Good tools too, as they appear to be a source to some of the US suppliers.  A few years ago, deliveries were very slow. Are they up to a normal delivery time now?

I haven't used them in quite a number of years. Even back 10 years ago they would indeed take FOREVER, up to and over a month. I can only imagine that things have slowed even further these days.

Thanks Dave for the Zeng Hao link. I found it by a search the other day looking for different color pads, but did not know if they were reliable or not. I just bookmarked it.

I used to buy motorcycle parts from Europe especially Netherlands because they had parts and accessories for old motorcycles, ditto from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong. Then it was about a 10-14 day wait from order to door arrival. (Far East countries still make new replacement parts for a 55 year old Honda motorcycle I had.)

During Covid I sent a friend in New Zealand an International First Class stamped envelop (done at the US Post Office) with one page letter and a Fox .15X model airplane engine aluminum propeller drive plate the size and shape of a small washer, taped it to the letter. (Part was small enough and cost wise wasn't worth declaring.)

Normally should have taken less than 2 to 3 weeks. It took 4 months for him to receive it. It wasn't held up by NZ Customs, it was hosed up in the shipment channels.

I have a concern with the US weird tariff situation compounded by shipping channel delays and cost spikes after Covid. Thus for everything else I have been ordering from US sources or US warehouses only.

Is buying overseas safe and shipping costs back to normal?
