Boosey and Hawks longer upper joint

I've just started playing the clarinet as an adult. I have a student Buffet and a 80+ year old Boosey and Hawks.
I noticed the Boosey and Hawks upper joint is longer by 1/4" than the Buffet.
And I'm finding that new cases don't fit the old Boosey and Hawks. Any suggestions?
Do different clarinets have different lengths joints?

I like using padded cases that keep the clarinet together in one piece. You can get a soprano sax case and it will have lots of padding. Put on the mouthpiece and you're ready to play.

I agree. I use a one-piece case similar to this one on eBay, listed as: Paititi New One Piece Bb Clarinet Lightweight Case

I take the horn apart when I get home, to dry. Or, a case with a foam interior can often be modified. I've used a ball-peen hammer to compress the foam, to create more space.

I bought a new Kaces hard foam universal case a year ago. They have updated the model number.

Just checked, my Boosey & Hawkes Edgware Bb soprano clarinet upper joint is 1/4 inch longer than my Selmer CL1400. The Edgware fits this universal case.

Perhaps your best bet is to visit a music store with your B&H clarinet, and check fit with their universal cases. Because these stores must compete with on-line, their prices are a touch more but IMO not by much.

Thus you will be assured to find a case to your satisfaction.
