As well as the myeloma I have a blocked ear. Totally deaf in my left ear;the Eustachian tubes are blocked. I've seen my GP and Doctor but nothing they give me works. I'm told I just have to keep massaging the area and use the menthal inhalers and gum
But then I read online that one way is to blow up balloons (you can actually buy such a device to blow for clearing of the pistachio tubes), and while I don't have any balloons I do have a clarinet. So I had a 10 minutes, I mean 30 minutes session of random tuneful blowing (I hope!) and when I came downstairs, now quite hot, I had to urgently blow my nose. So that seems to be working. I will keep up with that.
Fingers and earlobes crossed!

Larry, sounds like by using the clarinet caused the pressure to build up in the nasal cavity which in turn helped to open up the ear canal so now it could drain.

Back in the old days in Hawaii some 45 years ago, the ear, nose, throat doc would have me tilt my head back past their patient table laying flat on my back, then squirt copious amounts of a nasal spray decongestant, Neosynephryn into my nostrils using a syringe. It would immediately open up my ear passages, he then took a gentle suction pump that sucked the spooge byproducts out of the way until totally clear.

I learned later through allergy testing that I have several pollens hit me every season, why I have year round allergies. If the nasal passage remains damp become a breeding ground for bacteria, hence the stopped up ear canals. Now I use over-the-counter flutacasone proprionate (generic Flonase) nose spray once a day, which helps to remove the edge from allergies. I don't know if that may help you. I don't know if requires a prescription where you are at.

Wondered why I was having allergies in the dead of Winter with snow on the ground, found through testing I am highest allergic to Juniper and Cedar tree pollen. They pollenate through Winter. I also have a grass allergy. Found that wheat is a grass. If I avoid wheat especially in Winter, then I don't have the allergy caused migraine headaches I had with the pine pollens.

Perhaps this may help?

I used to get painful ear pressure when landing on plane travels. I clear my eustachian tubes or preven blockage, by taking Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) nasal decongestant. I get the pure version without added antihistamine. It has helped me consistently for decades by taking it an hour or a few hours before the plane lands. Maybe this would help you, Larry.
