Title: J Horn anyone?
Post by: LarryS on February 20, 2021, 04:10:33 PM
Nuvo have brought out a horn for beginners. It looks good on paper and not just as a kid's instrument!

I have experience with the Nuvo Clarineo - a plastic C clarinet.

For like $100, it's a decent C clarinet. Unfortunately, the thumb rest is AWFUL and really detracts from it. Cut it off and you're in business.

I also do NOT like the Nuvo's key system. It's like a sort of modified Albert-esque system that is confusing, small, and unintuitive to use.

If you are are simply too cash-strapped to spend $250 for a Chinese plastic C, then I guess you can go with Nuvo Clarineo.

IDK about the other Nuvo products, but I suppose they are considered the "last option" for anybody even marginally serious about playing.

Well they're designed for kids because they are tough and easy to clean, but a lot of adults play them as back up instruments. The guy from Earspasm Music on YouTube recently tested the Clarinet quite favourably. I like the ligature method they use
