Hello all (and goodbye).  I've decided that it's time to hang up the holster--no wind left to play.  My Vito Leblanc  (?--serial number, 5015, doesn't match) resonite alto clarinet is listed on EBay (search "Alto Clarinet, Vito Leblanc, Resonite"--I can't get the hyperlink to work here);  there is a link there to a vimeo of me playing Ashokan Farewell (shows the    register change--not a performance that I'm proud of).   Included are a Hite mouthpiece (makes a lot of difference in the sound),  a good strap, a silk swab,  my  home-made support stand (4 inch pipe and toilet flange), and sterilized synthetic reeds, and unused cane reeds  (3.0), I'm willing to let it go for a  lot less than the "Buy it Now" price listed on Ebay to one of you guys if anyone's interested.  And, so long, it's been good to know you.

New thoughts: as I remarked in a previous post, it's difficult for this old guy to lug my alto clarinet and case around.   I've found that the alto clarinet itself is not that heavy: me + clarinet =  x;   me alone = x- 4 pounds (do you think I'd give my weight in a public forum?).   Whence, weight of alto clarinet is about 4 pounds.    Weight of alto clarinet + case = 14  to 15 pounds, whence weight of case = 10 to 11 pounds.    The light dawns--get a lighter case, which I've done, a gig bag, about 29.5 inches long and relatively cheap ($31.99 or $35.99 if you get it through Amazon).   See

So the search for an a clarinet, a g clarinet, a soprano sax is over.   but thanks guys for the helpful information.

I have a VITO Resotone (Resonite?) one-piece (+neck, bell, mouthpiece) alto clarinet  that has a very sweet tone.   I don't know about the intonation.   the serial # is (from memory) 5015, which doesn't correspond to a Vito  on any of the web pages I've looked at.  I'll be posting some pictures soon because I'll be putting it up for sale (Hite mouthpiece, nice strap and my home-made stand).

Welcome back.  It shouldn't be too difficult to find a decent playing "eefer", but most I see in a decent price range are nearly 100 years old now--not that this a problem; merely an observation, and something to consider.  I suspect it will be easier (although it sounds more troublesome) to purchase an eefer, and sell your Alto in separate transactions.  At the very least, it gives you a lot more flexibility, and helps guarantee your selection of a good clarinet, without compromise.
Respectfully, I suspect no buyer will be interested in your Legere reeds, though if your stand is not heavy, and easily sent via post, it may be a "deal closer", but that will depend upon the buyer, I suppose.  You make no mention of the manufacturer of your alto.  If you can furnish details, and perhaps photos, we may be able to assist you in selling off your beloved horn.
Finally, I doff my hat to you for having the gumption to be playing clarinet at the age of 87.  I'm sure I speak for the lot of us when I say that your are an inspiration to us all.

Thank you Windsong for your kind words.   I looked up the paypal receipt, and it's a LeBlanc Vito, Resonite? body, serial #5015.   That serial number doesn't correspond to any that I've seen listed for Vito alto clarinets on the web, but only to a Noblet (which would have a Grenadilla wood body).  The sound is nice (for this inexpert player), and I like it better than I did the sound of the Leblanc that I had several years earlier, which I mistakenly sold, thinking I was then giving up playing.

I've had it professionally tuned and reworked so it goes to the upper register nicely.   I don't know about the intonation, but it seems to be in tune when I play it at Church, but that's mostly lower register (tenor and bass choral parts).     I'll bring up some pictures and, possibly, link to a youtube video of me playing so you can get some idea of tone.

PS--I've heard some youtube videos of Soprano sax playing Bach, and they sound lovely--a little oboeish.  Any thoughts on the soprano sax, or is that outside of the domain of clarinetpages.info forum?
