Trading Post / Re: set of Noblet Bb and A clarinets on ebay

THESE ARE NOW SOLD

I did a little research, I found this clarinet was made in 1935. You never mentioned if this is a metal, wood or hard rubber instrument.

Pedler made some nice clarinets. I'm not familiar with their flutes, but this is a student line flute so at best it might be worth $150.

Just an update. I recently sold my less expensive Muramatsu when I picked a Jupiter. I've found that with my Muramatsu head joint the Jupiter actually plays easier than my expensive flute, with a tone that is really close, and the intonation is very good. I like it so much, I just bought a solid silver Jupiter (not to replace my Muramatsu). All of my flute are open hole with B foot and both of the Jupiters have a split E mechanism. Keep the faith and enjoy the trip.

I was the music coordinator for a large school district in Michigan. We bought many of the Vito clarinets each year for our beginning band program. There was a year or two (I'm guessing in the late 70s or early 80s) that we got several instruments that broke with little or no provocation. I'd guess you have one from that vintage. It is possible that a good repairman could epoxy the two pieces back together, if you're sentimentally attached to that instrument, but it would be cheaper to just buy another. The Vitos were, of course, the American "poor cousin" of the French Leblanc instruments (including Noblet and Normandy). I frequently sell completely refurbished wood Noblets and Normandys in the $150-$175 range. I actually have right now an early Leblanc (1950 +/-) professional instrument that I'm just getting ready to list on ebay.

Good luck and best wishes.

I hate to be the barer of bad tidings, but any instrument you find for that price is going to cost more to fix than you pay for it, unless you get really lucky. I have an old Leblanc wood, which I would describe as a cheap bass that would go for somewhere in the $2000 range. Best of luck with your search.

Hi,

Another option would be the oversized Normandy/Noblet cases. I think I have one. They would be a lot less expensive than the new ones.

All about Clarinets / Raymond Clarinet Mouthpiece???

I just got a clarinet with what looks like a nice mouthpiece. It's marked Raymond - Paris. Does anyone know anything about this company or mouthpiece? I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but time will tell.

Let's see if I've figured this all out now.

I've been trying to attach a few pictures, but have had no success. I'm using a Mac. What am I missing?

I'm thinking I'll repad it. Do you think I should do a full refurb? I have ordered a case for it.
