I've seen a variety of plateau mechanisms:
just thumb (Mazzeo)
all but thumb (Bottali)
just thumb, 3rd and 6th holes (Bundy semi-plateau)
But never one with all but the 3rd hole. If anything, I would think that would be the one hole most critical to have a plateau.
I have a Beacon with all but 3rd and thumb plateaued. I'll post pics when I'm done hiding from the hurricane

Resurrecting this thread because I have had a LOT of success using MuseScore 2, which is free. After getting used to it I've found it to be quite a lot of fun...and isn't that what it should be about?

« on: September 04, 2017, 08:52:55 AM »It's beyond my abilities but I'd like to ask how literally do you expect the timing to be taken? Is it even possible to play a sextuplet in a 5/16 bar that's flanked by a 3/8 bar and a 5/8 bar and get it accurate?
I was wondering the same thing about the 5/16 measure. Wouldn't it be accurate to leave it in 3/8 for one more measure and just play the sextuplet within that measure? How would the resulting passage be any different? Unless other instruments are required to play in that measure utilizing the 5/16 it seems unnecessarily overcomplicated...or am I missing something?
