1936 Buffet

  Just got this little guy delivered today. I'm sure that I paid way too much for it $175. But I really wanted a pre-pre R13/ or as it is rarely called not an R-13. I think I might just repad it and leave it at that. Seems to be well taken care of. has a crack on the bell, and barrel pretty insignificant.

I agree, perhaps a little much in terms of resale value.  But it sure looks to be a real nice player, if not in tune then in sound and tone.  Definitely one to keep!

It will be a good player - that's the appeal of these non-museum grade clarinets. Oh, and the fact that it's a hand built Buffet is surely a good thing.

Luckily I have never sold anything! LOL

Recently I took some out to get measurements and took this pic. My favorite is the Martin Freres 1860-1890 in the middle. Plays like a champ! I was building my new workbench because I was sick of working on them at my kitchen counter. My wife might have hated it a little also.  I am going to take a break from buying anymore, and really focus on the overhaul/regulating aspects of them. I am going to go over all of the ones I did when I first started, and try to fine tune them.
