check this out!  This is probaably the stupidest looking instrument i have seen yet.  My question: how is it possible that he releases so many pads even when he goes lower??

Now that\'s really good - I like it!  I have hard sounds like that before, somewhere?

You may have heard the Bb Contrabass Sarrusophone gkern.
It has been used in compositions such as Richard Strauss\'s Alpine Symphony for example. It\'s a type of metal \'Bassoon\' that has a good \'rattling\' sound way down there in the 16 foot wind register and is apparently far more practical to use than the  Saxophone seen here even though it doesn\'t have a large compass (range)
The Clarinet is not a Horn.

Brilliant ! Just goes to show that you don\'t need to have a Simple (Albert) System to play Gypsy Klezmer style folk music.

Hey Dave - it\'s been too long since a new video has been posted!  Here is the late Jacques Gauthe and Ryan Burrage on clarinet, along with a fantastic piano player at Fritzel\'s in NOLA.

Now that\'s great!  Must take one heck of a lot of air to play the Octocontralto...

Dave - hope you don\'t mind my sticking these on here; Kenny Davern is one of my favorites - but - if my fingers were flying like his, one of my recent mentors would have beat my fingers to a pulp with his cane!  The story is that Kenny gave up on wood horns due to cracking and other problems and used old Conn hard rubber or plastic clarinets.  Sure does sound good, though.
