It's a wrench, but I'm selling my Penzel-Mueller A clarinet.
« on: November 14, 2017, 03:48:30 PM »
I really, really like the Penzel-Mueller A clarinet that I am selling, but I can only play one A clarinet at a time.

If interested, see https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Penzel-Mueller-A-clarinet-fully-reconditioned/182900969367

It's really hard to put a valuation on this rare clarinet and in today's market. I think I set the starting price low, but who knows?!

To help your bidders, you can actually include a link to the review in question directly in the ebay description. However, you must first create a clickable hyperlink in Word and copy-paste that onto the description, as ebay doesn't allow bare links, as you probably know.

Phil,
What if something were to happen to the other A you have?  Your very low introductory price won't cover it's replacement.  A suggestion if I may?  Consider selling it to a friend on the condition that you have an offer of first refusal, perhaps.

Whatever you decide- best of luck.

One week, no bid.
2nd week, lowered price by not including the case, no bid.
Put it on 30 day fixed price sale with further lowered price.
After one week lowered the price a few bucks.

I think I may stop the ebay listing.
If any of you are interested in a special deal, make me an offer as a message in this forum.

Phil - Is it likely that players desire a close match between their Bb and A horns? So, potential buyers are wary of "mismatch" in playing characteristics with their (typically) standard-brand horns?

Oddly (that would be me) I prefer my Bb and A (and C) to be distinctly different sounding. It expands my range of expression, besides just pitch and fingering. But then, I'm not an orchestral player.

And others aren't either. So you never know ... I would just keep it on, waiting for someone who is waiting for just this!

I just got my 3rd C clarinet sale on eBay. $600 Buy It Now / NO option to Make An Offer. First one took 2 weeks / 2nd one took 1 day. This one took 4 days. Maybe you should up the price to $600  :-)    –– I'm serious!

It wouldn’t hurt to raise the price. If it’s too low people may think that there’s something wrong.
Funny story, once a guy wanted to hire me to refurbish his R13 but then backed out because he thought my price was too low...
