POST COUNTER WORKING
« on: November 20, 2017, 10:49:29 AM »
I finally got the post counter working. It was so darn simple. Sorry it took so long.

Unfortunately, this does not restore the number of all the posts you have ever made, but will start adding to your current total starting now.

Please message me if you want your status changed from "Newbie" to something more fitting your contributions.

To manually change your post count:

1. Go to "Profile"
2. Go to "Summary"
3. Click on "Show Posts" on the left side under your avatar picture
4. Under the green bar that says "Messages - [your username]", click on the last page number
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page: the last number is your total post count
6. Go back to "Profile" -> "Account Settings"
7. Find the "Posts" box, and input the number you found from your post count

From here, it will increase automatically with every new post.

Please let me know if you require assistance and I'll update your post counter for you.

I don't think that we as users get to modify our Posts count.  286 (+1 for this post!) for me, and a non-newb status, if you please.

I also can't find the place where I can modify "Proud alto clarinetist."

The Clarinet Pages is where we answer the question: "Am I not a Clarinet and a Woodwind?"

Yay!  I don’t have to type in those stupid puzzle letters in order to make a post!!  Almost everytime it told me i was wrong.  I must be partially colorblind or something, because I really would think i had them correct, and it was like, nope, try again.  Close, but still nope ... Almost this time, but nope, nada, hahahahaha!!!!  i could hear it laughing at me,  SO frustrating!!!  Thank you Dave!!!!

Dave and Andy: great thanks.  I appreciate your technical savvy, Andy, and the new functionality of the forum.  Very nice!

BTW, since we seem to be on a roll, is there any chance we may be able to fix the "Send This Topic" link?

Hmm I tried that but there seems to be no Posts Box as per instruction 7:
"7. Find the "Posts" box, and input the number you found from your post count"
Also the only account action available is 'delete account'! My post count would now be 152.

I suppose that must be an admin-only option. So I'll do it for you :)

Hey Dave, I have 101 posts (including this one) and I'd like to not be a "newbie" anymore. Can you hook a brother up?  8)
