New case for Bb full Boehm?

I don't like the case that I received my Selmer Bb full Boehm clarinet in and am looking for options for a new case. I've seen that a common thing is to modify an existing Bb clarinet case to accommodate the extra length of the bottom joint. I've also thought of making a custom case for it out of a pluck out foam microphone case. Any ideas?

They make one-piece clarinet cases new out of China for very low prices. However they’ll only fit a FB if you remove the barrel.
Soprano sax cases are excellent, and you can easily put in extra padding for more security as there’ll be a bit of extra space in there.

I'd like a case that would allow me to fully disassemble the clarinet and let the corks dry if possible

In that case, I'd recommend an alto clarinet case. They're pretty expensive, but definitely do the trick. Then again, it is quite a bit too big, so you'd have to do some heavy padding work.

Would an A clarinet case work? They should theoretically be the same length since they have the same range

I feel like it would be tough to find an A clarinet case just by itself. You might end up having to buy a cheap Chinese A just for the case...

An old Conn case would work with minimal reconfiguration.  It shouldn't be too difficult to find one in nicer shape than mine.

The pick and pluck foam on this one is only 2" thick with maximum interior of 2.25".  You'll need to find one with minimum interior depth of 3.25" to accommodate the bell.


The Leblanc cases that have the side compartment will also work with only a small reshaping for the lower joint.
