Finally got back to work on the American Student clarinet.
Here are a few detail photos. Note that there the F/C# and Ab/Eb are on a common hinge rod with no post between them.
The keywork is not very well designed. The long key shafts in the lower joint are rather easy to bend. However, the spatulas are very difficult to bend. Makes adjusting the key action down there a challenge, though I've gotten them working ok. Likewise, the cup arms on the large lower joint keys are very stiff and not easy to adjust. Having difficulty getting a good pad seal. Might need to go to thicker pads.
But, hey, challenges are what help keep the old brain active!
