Exercise 54 - October 21
« on: October 05, 2021, 01:01:40 PM »
This month's piece - my 16th month of playing - is an exercise from a James Rae book that I liked so much I worked it up into a mini-arrangement complete with an attempt at a harmony line and a short improv.

Great stuff-- only 16 months playing is impressive. Nice tone, tasteful vibrato. Tonguing & connections the way it should be.

What editing system do you use?

Hi Ken

All old and cheap stuff :-)

I record direct into my PC on a Samson USB mic. I use a free and cut-down version version of Cakewalk called Sonar X1 to mix the clarinet with the backtrack. Once done everything is imported into a very old video editing programme called Power-Director.

When I one day get a new laptop I might upgrade everything, but for now the simplicity works for me and this under-powered computer.

Regards
Derek

Thanks.  I've not heard of any of that software.
