I'll have to confirm 100%, but I think they are.  I could be wrong, it happens...  But, I do have a similar one that 100% has unplated brass keys, and another one where I think someone plated the keys and posts nickel later (worn off in areas-absolutely brass underneath), as the rings are unplated brass. These I believe are all from the ~1860-1884 era, pre serial number Buffet Crampon.  The raw brass keywork I've observed more often on the boxwood (yes, they exist, I messed up bidding on one years ago otherwise I would have one!) models contemporary to these blackwood versions.

Neato. Only clarinet I've had my paws on with brass keys was an old boxwood type. Pretty cool if those are brass!

Wouldn't be surprised. For some reason, in the past makers seemed to be rather lax on their serial requirements. IDK why

I believe serial numbers started when Evette and Schaeffer took ownership of Buffet around 1884-5?
