Problem with playing lowest note after reassembling clarinet

Hi,

I have an inexpensive plastic clarinet that has suddenly developed an issue. As I'm a complete newbie I have no idea how to fix it.

After reassembling the clarinet yesterday, I found that when I tried to play an E (the lowest note) using either of these two fingerings: https://imgur.com/a/HbQyPE4 the note no longer sounds. However, it does sound with this fingering: https://imgur.com/a/1Q64UFu

On closer inspection I can see that when using either of the first two fingerings the pad over this hole: https://imgur.com/a/HYVxLq0 doesn't press fully down, whereas it does with the other fingering.

This issue didn't occur until the last time the clarinet was assembled, so something seems to have happened when reassembling it.

Could anyone tell me what the likely issue is here? I'm hoping it might be an easy fix.

Your first 2 fingerings rely solely on the crows foot to close that pad, that would be the first thing to look at.  There is usually a thin piece of cork on the crows foot, and if it falls off or gets compressed enough, that pad won't seal.

Thanks for the reply. Could you tell me exactly where the crows foot relating to that pad is located? I'm completely new to the workings of the clarinet and am finding it a tad confusing.

Thanks. I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh6Pg__DRUE and it covers the exact same issue I have. With a couple of bits of Gorilla tape I've been able to fix it. Not sure if the tape will stay put permanently but I'll glue on some other material if it doesn't. Glad it was an easy fix! Cheers for your help.
