I'm leaving for a while
« on: January 20, 2022, 11:26:11 PM »
Hey folks,

Tomorrow I am officially joining the US Navy, and will be starting Officer Candidate School in Rhode Island.

If all goes well, I will be commissioned as an Ensign in the Oceanography field in mid-April.

Until then, I leave things in the capable hands of those better than I.

Godspeed, friends, and see you on the flip side!

Congratulations and good luck Dave. Will you at times be able to check in with us? Back in 1978 I was offered a band job at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago, but chose something else, partly because I didn't feel like doing 11 weeks of basic....

Best of luck, Dave!  I will miss knowing you are always at the helm here, but that sounds like a very good career path.  Godspeed.
