Trying Again so PLEASE READ THIS.
« on: March 13, 2023, 10:45:13 AM »
Hi all.

I am new here so please consider the following:

On 2-15-23, I posted the following:

"I am thinking of going in July.

It is BOULDER, CO.

Anyone ever been to one? With is it like?"

Now, a month later, 47 people viewed the post and ZERO said anything. Zero

I came here because I was told this is good place to share information under friendly conditions. So far, I have experienced neither.

Am I expecting too much? If so, I would imagine that there are other clarinet forums of which I can tap into as I certainly do not want to be a bother.

Taking it one step further, I look at the incredible number of folks who post and get no response. Not even one. Honestly I am lost and expected a bit more. Perhaps even manners and common decency.

To any mods that might read this, please do not remove it. I have stated nothing that is not factually correct in my comments so I assuming that there is no problem with speaking the truth.

(Please, do not be the next Twitter and silence me as that is simply wrong.)

I haven't been to one. You are correct. I don't think people are being obnoxious. There is just too little action here. Try the
Clarinet BBoard. I used to belong to a bunch of Scuba forums but quit them all to just stay with the one with a lot of action.

Sure. You know it's like emails today. 25 years ago when that was new you were besieged with people emailing you-- we were all so glad to get rid of huge long distance phone charges. Now you email someone and you may hear back next month. But, you can leave a voice mail for when they don't answer their phones....

How can you go wrong?

Sorry nobody has answered you specifically. I does not reflect on the general nature of our group, just that the attention occasionally lags. I hope you will not take it personally, and will participate here ... like ... send us a report from ClarinetFest!

Yeah, a month of no replies is disappointing. I assume no forum members have been to ClarinetFest. https://clarinet.org/clarinetfest-2023/

Like many online forums that deal with specific instruments, ClarinetPages is mainly focused on gear (mostly vintage). Many here have obtained a long forgotten or ignored clarinet and have carefully restored them to playing condition. Sure, there's other forums with more activity, but possibly without the same level of respect for "old" clarinets.

Really?
You've asked 2 questions on the forum so far.  The first was about a double clarinet case to hold sheet music.  You were given multiple answers with options other than a big dollar double case.  I would think that would qualify as sharing information under friendly conditions.
Your second about clarinetfest had 47 views and no replies.  Those views could have been by "guests", who can view but not reply, or even by members who have never been to clarinetfest and have no desire to go.  Would a dozen or so "Never been and don't care to go" been considered friendly?

I tend to reply to those posts which I can offer useful information. If not, then it's a wasted response in my opinion.
