Pedler Hoosier Metal Clarinet
« on: July 26, 2023, 03:18:58 PM »
I have just recently acquired a Pedler Hoosier metal clarinet.  It is a single piece with a mouthpiece.  Its serial number is 34895 and appears to be in its original case.  The words on the bell [which has no other decoration] are: Pedler
                                                                                                              HOOSIER
                                                                                                        ELKHART, INDIANA

Please tell me what quality an instrument it is, whether it is silver on brass, or silver, and its potential retail value.

Hi, Swissbass. Your Hoosier metal clarinet is a student grade instrument. It's most likely nickel plating over brass.

It's value is dependent on overall condition. A "mint" copy in playing condition should fetch $150.00 or in that ballpark.

Take a close look at the mouthpiece make and model. It could be worth more than the clarinet!

Hi,
you wrote, it´s a single piece clarinet with his mouthpiece, ¿ it has his metal barrel?

Yep, if the barrel is missing, the value just dropped significantly.

It's very difficult to find a manufacturer-specific barrel for metals. Best of luck

If it's got a mouthpiece, the barrel is there too! (most likely)
