I have a '60s Selmer Duraform case somewhere with one side of the nesting missing... I think I know what to use it for now.

Shoot, I love it when cases are worth more than the instrument.

That antique violin I posted before I bought without a case.

I found an entire violin kit on eBay for $38, free shipping. Nowhere could I find just a case for that price. Thus, I bought the kit, kept the case, and donated the crummy violin. What a deal.
